I found one!! And this one smells soo good!

    $35 at Sephora

This one works great because it goes on very well, like a cooling almost gel type of moisturizer. It glides on and makes your face feel “juicy” for a long time. It spreads evenly and doesn’t feel sticky or gooey. Did I mention the smell is fabulous??

I’m sure you’ve all seen Taylor Swift’s new hairstyle… and I gotta say I’m a huge fan of the change! It totally proves that your hair can change your “look” almost entirely!

    Before

    After

Ummm… is that really her? Yes, it is!

    NY Gym Reviews

by Carol, posted in Health, Self

Yesterday I joined a 24 Hour Fitness in midtown. This is my very first ever real gym membership! (Excluding the college gym and using my sister’s never-used pass at LA Fitness back in Cali.) It is RIDICULOUS how expensive gym membership is in New York. For some reason, the fine print always says “specials not valid NY and NJ.”  Back when we first moved here, when I had no job and we were barely making it paycheck by paycheck, I dreamt about having a gym membership. “I’d go 3-4 times a week!” I swore to myself.

I finally got a job and we moved to a cheaper apartment, which allowed us to have some money for only one of us to have membership. Sadly, the husband cannot join with me — we only had enough for me! He says he’ll try to do more P90x.  (He has already lost about 10 lbs with that alone!)

What are the gym memberships like in NYC? During my Poor Days, I had to go around to each gym, using their free passes. Here’s all my research:

24 Hour Fitness: Best value in my opinion at $64.99 per month, with a $30 initiation fee. Pay 1 month and last month upfront. There’s almost no wiggle room here unless you get the $30 initiation fee waived like I did for Black Friday.   24’s have been popping up everywhere and they’re all HUGE, clean, very well staffed and it’s just nice to work out on brand new equipment.  (They even have ipod adapters on all their machines!) Plus, it’s nice that they’re open 24 hours!
Tip: 7 day passes are available. If you know someone that has a membership, they can get you a 24 day pass!

This past weekend on my trip to Montreal, a friend mentioned how she tried botox for free since she used to work at a plastics office. I was shocked to hear that because I always affiliated botox for old, washed out celebs trying to restore their youth and she’s around my age. But she says that the most amazing effect was having botox under the eyes to lift the sagging. She said it made her look so much brighter and awake!

With the holidays all around us, we must be prepared for lots and lots of pictures! Here are some of my tips of how to pose for pictures.  First off, let’s talk about what NOT to do. If you haven’t already heard of this Duck Face girl (the girl who poses with duck lips in EVERY SINGLE PICTURE) it is HILARIOUS! Keep watching… it just gets more & more ridiculous!

    Soda remedies

by Carol, posted in Health, Self

The hubs is a crazy Soda Person. Meaning he loves Diet Coke (or any soda) at 9AM and can have gallons of it. It kinda grosses me out, although I LOVE having Diet Coke with my Korean BBQ! (Don’t they just go SO well together!?)

My friend and I talked about how sometimes we feel “gross.”  Meaning that greasy, chest bloating, undigesty feeling you get when you eat and nap right after. I HATE that feeling and my drunkard friends have told me that’s kind of what it feels like to be hung over. (Uhm I have not yet been drunk yet. It’s on my list of things to do just to see what the big deal is, but doesn’t sound very fun to me!)

Soda is sooo bad for you in every way, but sometimes my parents would tell me to have some 7UP whenever I’m feeling “gross.”  An even better suggestion?

    Why? Calorie free baby!
