And I thought yesterday was cold! Today is… absolutely frigid. Usually our apartment is a swamp and we need to crack open a window to make it breathable. I noticed how cold it was outside because our apartment was “normal” temperature.  Plus, the pads on my cat’s paws were cold, which is unusual.

When your heat is on full blast, you might not be aware of how dry the air is. My sister has super oily skin and said her skin was GREAT at my apartment because it was so dry! Meaning… the dry skinned people like me are suffering even more.  I’ve heard of people saying that leaving out a bowl of water helps keep the moisture in the air.  However, we decided to invest in a real humidifier. Well, a “real” humidifier meaning this: (don’t laugh!)

The elephant one is cuter because it it comes out of the nose! The frog one has steam coming out of its eyeballs, which is a little creepy.

So we were seated where there was a piece of paper on my chair. The interns came by and said that someone needed to sit there for a portion of the show where they pan into the audience. I was bummed that they were gonna make me leave, but Mr. Husband was kind enough to say that he would take my seat so I could stay! The guy next to me was an NBC intern and let me just say he was wearing SO MUCH MAKEUP! Like 5 lbs of powder by the looks of it! I kept wondering how those hair/makeup people got those gigs to put powder on Jimmy Fallon’s nose??? I would loooove to do that!

Rule #1 of being on TV: don’t be fat. Look at my face! I look like a round cheerio. And I know I’m not fat. I’m not perfect or skinny either, but I know I’m not considered a fat person. The camera adds 10 million pounds and takes away any beauty you might think you have. Depression!!!

Rule #2 of the possibility of being on TV: carry makeup with you! We only found this out maybe a few minutes before the show, so we were trying to put on powder and gloss but of course none of that shows up.

Rule #3 of anything related to tapings/TV shows: be buddy buddy with the interns/pages/staff. One time we were waiting for Conan, and one of Mr. Husband’s friends was being very friendly & chatty with the pages. When it was time for tickets, they literally said out loud “let’s give them good seats…” And woohoo, we got good seats!

If you haven’t done a taping, you should try! It’s easy — just call the number on their website and they’ll give you some dates you can come in. Good thing I end work early, because most people have to leave work early — that’s the only catch!

GG Bran Crisp Crackers… A.K.A. … appetite control crackers.

My initial reaction was … what a jacka88 of a boss! But my cousin raves about how awesome he is, so I can only guess that the intentions behind this gift are good.

What is it?

Anyone else suffer from this??

Here are some of the causes:

- shaving

- deodorant : some have negative reactions to sensitive skin

- clothing rubbing to close to skin

- dead skin buildup

- dark hair folicles

Now for me, there were 2 things that could’ve triggered it. Shaving & deodorant. As I’ve shared before, I don’t consider a shower “A” shower if you didn’t use an Italy soo gun.

Here are some home remedies that worked for me. It didn’t cure the discoloration but I have definitely noticed a bit of lighting.

- SCRUB your armpits to remove any excess dead skin cells

- rub a lemon in your armpits as a scrubber

- instead of shaving, wax or pluck armpit hairs

Anyone have any tricks of the trade to help with this problem?
