My new “tradition” for weddings is to get my hair blown out. Why? Because most likely I’m doing something for the wedding, whether it be hair or makeup, and by the time it’s time for ME to get ready — I’m exhausted! So I decided to always get my hair blown out right before the wedding at any cheapie hair salon in the area.

It’s also nice to not have to worry about washing my hair that day. I just get my hair done, put on my usual fake lashes (which is seriously all that it really takes for anyone) and ta-da…. I’m Wedding Ready!

My friend and I like to relax at a spa every now and then, whenever we see Groupon or Lifebooker deals. But the last couple times we went, we ended up at some ghetto place where they hurt you more than anything! They say it’s a “Swedish massage” when you book, but when you show up, they say “it’s like a Swedish massage.” I do not enjoy that “no pain no gain” method of massaging. I would even pay money for someone to stroke me gently until I fall asleep… or have someone play with my hair!

I found a Lifebooker deal and decided to give Jeunesse Spa a chance to give me a REAL Swedish massage!

I kept hearing about this “UV nail” process among brides so I thought I’d give it a shot myself! At first I though it was the same thing as a regular manicure because I remember sticking my nails through those UV drying machines in the end.

BUT.. the UV nail process is completely different than a regular manicure! They have a different line of nail color polishes, so you can’t select the regular colors. Luckily, the salon I went to still uses the OPI brand for their UV nail colors!

    Wood Perm

by Carol, posted in Hair, Salon Review

I decided to get a perm in Cali since they’re soo cheap! Unfortunately, being in Cali without a car is pretty difficult. I typically get my perms in Garden Grove or Diamond Bar, but I had a few hours to spare in Irvine. I ended up just trying out a brand new place thanks to my best friend Yelp.com.  That is how I found Delerbang Salon in Tustin!

I asked the lady for a digital perm (only $80!) but she looked at my hair and recommended a Wood Perm. What’s a wood perm? She described it as having the same effects of a digital perm, but it is way less damaging. They just use wood rollers and put on the potent stuff without any steam or machine.

Continuing on the process of my eyelash perm at Lavilash.

The whole idea of perming my lashes was to:

    1. never have to rely on curling my lashes everyday, saving me minutes in the morning “getting ready” process.

    2. being able to stay curled in the humid weather.

    3. being able to jump right into the mascara application and not having to worry about whether or not my mascara would weigh my lashes down.

    mmmm... crispy!

Even though J had already experienced Eyelash Perming, I still wanted to get it done myself. After all, everyone is different and I wanted to be able to experience it on my own to tell people firsthand what it’s like!! Plus, it’s gotten to be SO HOT and humid and my super sonic straight lashes refuse to curl!! (OR it curls and it comes right out after I put on mascara)

Ahh.. this is SO TEMPTING! It’s $99 for a $250 haircut! Who can say they got a haircut worth $250??? But the reviews are SO extreme. Some people say it’s TOTALLY not worth it, but then others say they got the best haircut of their life here.

$99 for a haircut is already STEEP, but I would feel pretty cool getting a $250 treatment…

Argh….To do or not to do…?
