We-ll over the frickin’ freezing weekend, I passed by this cute lil shop called Greenhouse Hand and Foot Spa and decided to give it a whirl:

The sign outside said Foot Spa $25 for 20 minutes. I knew that was pretty $$$ but at the moment I was feeling like it would be worth it. The space is tiny and I could tell right away that it was Korean owned. The ladies let me in and treated me very well. There was a white haired older lady already there getting the same thing as me.  When it was time for me to dip my feet in, the water seemed BOILING hot! The older white haired lady told me “I think it seems REALLY hot because it’s so cold outside!”

Eventually the water seemed normal to me and I laid back to relax. The lady eventually conked out, which I liked because then it made me feel like I could conk out too. I LOVE GETTING my calves massaged… I think that’s oddly my favorite part of the body to be massaged. ??? Maybe because I have enormous ex-ballet calves and there’s a lot to massage.

Afterwards, my feet and calves seemed extremely soft and relaxed. They were sweet enough to pull down the rest of my pant leg for me and massaged them afterwards lightly. I am pretty sure they went over 20 minutes, probably because it was slow.

They gave me a coupon to come back for either a massage or facial for 5% off and waxing for 10% off. Nice!

Every now & then, I think it’s ok to treat yourself out… especially when it gets THIS COLD!!

John totally remembers me so he gave me a fantastic deal of only $110 for hi-lights and cut. (Plus he styled it for free because I was rushing off to a wedding!)

I know Garden Grove is quite a trek for LA people, but I would totally go to him at least once a year! While everyone else was suffering with the bad economy, he actually said that he gained MORE customers! I think it makes sense. He’s so cheap in comparison, so I would think that people would drive the extra miles to go to him instead of a fancy nearby salon.

ANYWAYS! I obliged and got pampered.

Most brides start caring for their skin on their face but totally neglect the rest of their bodies. So my esthetician told me to get a gentle facial and complete back treatment.

My back treatment included a scrub, black head extraction, gentle massage (cuz a shiatsu style massage would’ve left bruises), a seaweed wrap, & complete acne treatment to calm the inflammation from the extraction.

Overall I give TRINITY ESTHETICS 10 out of 10 GOLDEN JAC STARS.

I chose package A at $150. $150 is quite steep for a cheap-o like me. But this included a facial, back treatment/massage, hand and feet massage. It literally took about 2 hours to complete everything. Not the kind where you are counting down till it’s over but the kind where you wish the 2 hours wouldn’t end. AND you kill 2 birds with one stone since you get both facial & back massage at once.

If only I knew about the benefits of having smooth skin ALL OVER, I definitely would’ve started my treatments at least a month earlier!

- forgetting to pluck my eye brows

- forgetting to wash my face before I go to sleep

- forgetting to moisturize after my shower

But ONE thing I didn’t neglect are my roots!

I’m really careful when it comes to choosing a hair salon. I’m just not as brave as C. Especially after my HORRIBLE bleach blond highlights against black hair experience! So to get my roots did, I went to Kim Sun Young. Thank GOD I did and thank GOD my stylist was awesome.

I was only going to get my roots touched up but she convinced me to do a 2 step. At first, my reaction was to automatically assume that she just wanted to charge me more. But it totally was worth it. She 1st highlighted my hair then she coated it with a light brown color conditioner. This 2nd step darkened the highlights especially because there is no such thing as BROWN highlights. (Which explains my bleach blond highlights.)

After working non-stop, planning a wedding, cleaning our new home, move into our new home, I SO needed to get away and relax. My amazing sister & cousin totally surprised me with a midweek getaway to G SPA of MGM Foxwoods!

GOOD LORD! It was delicious! Everything about it! The spa, the food, even the mediocre club Shrine that had creepy creepers trying to grind up against you.

They didn’t allow cameras into the spa so all these images are sourced from elsewhere. But may I take you on a mini tour?

G SPA is a spa in MGM Foxwoods Casino and for MGM guests, admission is $15 and for outsiders, $25.

For $25, you get all this:

A private steam & heated sauna next to the humongo jacuzzi in the WOMEN’s locker room. I’m sorry boys!! But I seriously get heebied out by sharing a sauna or jacuzzi with boys….

There was even a lounge area in the locker room where we just sat, drank juice and lounge’d.

and where the 3 of us spent the most time. In the common pool! I get very self conscious about being in a swimsuit. So like C, I wore a very modest tankini and swim trunks. Though this was a common area, most people were just lounging on the chairs waiting for their spa service. So the 3 of us had the pool & common area jacuzzi to ourselves! We even sat in the jacuzzi to see the beautiful sun set!

It was quite romantic! LOL

OVERALL SPA SCORE: A+++

Service was over the top amazing. We got free drinks, warm towels, floss, disposable toothbrush, comb, brush, mouth wash, soap, shampoo. I felt right at home except with servants at my beckoning call.

My shoulders are relaxed and I feel completely ready for thanksgiving! (I’m hosting and cooking our family’s thanksgiving dinner this year. Wish me luck!)
