In college, my 4 roommates and I had a guest bathroom where we all decided to also make our Makeup Bathroom. We put in all of our old eyeshadow colors and other things that we just don’t use anymore. Why? One woman’s old makeup is another woman’s new makeup! :)   It worked pretty well and we were able to re-use some of our old makeup.

Well, I guess we can’t do that anymore because we live with boys now. But here are some tips we can use to conserve our makeup:

    1.)A Frugal Foundation Trick
Natalie DeStefano, makeup artist at the Rita Hazan Salon in NYC, recommends wetting your makeup sponge slightly before you dip it into your foundation. The dampness will cause the sponge to absorb less product, thus leaving more in the bottle.

    2.)Squeeze More Swipes

Get a few more uses out of an almost-gone mascara by standing it in a glass of warm water or heating it up with a hair dryer. Read More | Comments

My Cali friend flew into NYC to do an informal engagement shoot…People have always told me that they think So Cal girls are hot, and not to imply myself in any way  — but I agree! Even in the 8th grade, the Asian girls in my class knew EXACTLY how to make themselves look perfect and flawless.  Maybe it’s just an LA girl thing?  I have a handful of Asian friends that could easily be models (perfect hair, perfect faces, perfect bodies) but of course TV shows love showing the weirdest looking Asian people so I guess they don’t want it to be known that girls like that exist.  ANYWAYS,  here are some photos of the getting ready process of makeup & hair!

I think EVERYONE’s eyes are a little bit crooked. But there are some very special cases when it comes to this problem. Some people have a lot of extra skin above their eyes, so they usually put mountains of eyeliner on top so that it’ll show when you open your eyes. I know some friends that do this and they complain that this is the ONLY way to work an eyeliner with their eyes. It doesn’t matter that you know how to draw a perfect thin even line on each eye… that’s not what they’re looking for!

One of the bridesmaids not only had this problem, but she had very crooked eyes. So she told me that she’d like the eyeliner to be VERY thick AND uneven so that when she opens her eyes, it would look normal:

When I first started experimenting with the smokey eye, I hated YOUTUBE tutorials that required 5 eyeshadow colors, lots of brushes, lots of blending & effort. Because I didn’t own 5 eyeshadow colors nor the brushes.

Where were you QUEENIE when I used to only own 1 eyeshadow and used the sponge tip applicator that the shadow came with???

(I know it’s hard to sit through her talking if you don’t speak CANTONESE. Fast forward to 5:59 for the actual demo.)
