Awhile ago, a reader asked how to prevent nail stains from dark polish.  I read a tip from Instyle Magazine about some homemade remedies you may want to try:

    - Soak nails in 1/2 cup of lemon juice (this gently lightens nails)

    - Soak nails in 1/2 cup of olive oil (helps moisturize)

    - Dab whitening toothpaste on your nails, rinse off, then buff to remove the top layer of stains. Whitening toothpaste does the same thing as whitening your teeth, which should be gentle (obviously your TEETH are much more sensitive!)

    - Add a base coat of clear polish before you apply the dark polish so it won’t have direct contact.

    Enjoy your dark nails ladies!

Well … YOU’RE WASTING YOUR TIME!

Did you know that PURELL kills 99% of germs but leaves 1% of the STRONGEST germ that recolonizes in about 5 minutes and in 20 minutes, it’s back to it’s 100%???

ALSO, what is the point of PURELL-ing when the next thing you touch is covered in germs that get transferred back to your PURELL-ed hands???

So what hope do we germ-o-phob’s have??

Would you spend $16 on nail polish? I thought that was pretty ridiculous until a friend of mine raved about it in college. NARS is known to be an expensive brand so maybe $16 isn’t all that bad.  Not only do they have some amazing colors, but the nail polish actually stays much longer and doesn’t chip as much.

    Me too!

I usually have long nails but lately work’s been making my nails break all the time. So I finally cut them all off and they look so lifeless and sad:

I’m one of those types of people that always always has tweezers in their purse. I ended up finally using the last of my Sephora gift card today. THANK YOU for the brides who give us that as a service tip! Out of the 50% of people who actually do tip us, another half of those give us Sephora cards. It’s good and bad because it forces me to constantly try new products, but bad because of course I end up buying more things ;)

    Today I purchased this:

I wash my hands oh, about 20x per day.  My hands are often in gloves (because of Crumbs) so when I take them out, they are usually sweaty and then my hands gets really dry.  ew… I know.

I got this free sample of hand lotion from Sephora because I stored up enough beauty insider points. I usually “save” those points until I find a sample that I actually want to try!

If you’re like me, and you can’t see the use of good lotion because you’re always washing it off anyway…. So one tip is to just do one big moisture treatment before you go to sleep.  Then at least you have about 8 hours of moisturizing treatment without washing.

I love this OPI lotion! It really sucks in the dryness (your hands do NOT feel greasy the least bit after you rub it on) and it smells wonderful! I cannot put my finger on what it smells like… if anyone would like to dab on that and let me know what it smells like, that would be great!

One of my favorite parts of getting a pedicure are those cute little flower designs that they paint on the big toe.  It just makes me feel happier to see it every time I look down!
