Lesson learned. Geez! I had recently blogged about how I love getting blow outs right before weddings because my hair looks fantastic. However, I am lucky and do not have the difficult type of Asian hair that most of us Asians have. Meaning it curls well, it’s easy to dye and a simple blow out can look great.  I asked Miss K if she would want all the girls to get their hair blown out with the moms on the wedding day. I figured it’d be a fun and comfortable way to get everyone pampered together at a salon.

I went to Essentials Spa in Melbourne Beach and although the blow outs were all disappointing, the experience itself proved to me that it is always worth it to get SOME type of salon experience with your wedding day.  Women always enjoy getting pampered, and on the wedding day when everyone’s nerves are a bit crazier than usual, it’s a great idea to calm everyone down by getting beautified!  As expected, my $25 blow out came out I had wanted with volume with some curls. But as for everyone else?

Miss N…. her face are my thoughts exactly…

My new “tradition” for weddings is to get my hair blown out. Why? Because most likely I’m doing something for the wedding, whether it be hair or makeup, and by the time it’s time for ME to get ready — I’m exhausted! So I decided to always get my hair blown out right before the wedding at any cheapie hair salon in the area.

It’s also nice to not have to worry about washing my hair that day. I just get my hair done, put on my usual fake lashes (which is seriously all that it really takes for anyone) and ta-da…. I’m Wedding Ready!

My Cali friend flew into NYC to do an informal engagement shoot…People have always told me that they think So Cal girls are hot, and not to imply myself in any way  — but I agree! Even in the 8th grade, the Asian girls in my class knew EXACTLY how to make themselves look perfect and flawless.  Maybe it’s just an LA girl thing?  I have a handful of Asian friends that could easily be models (perfect hair, perfect faces, perfect bodies) but of course TV shows love showing the weirdest looking Asian people so I guess they don’t want it to be known that girls like that exist.  ANYWAYS,  here are some photos of the getting ready process of makeup & hair!

A couple weeks ago I attended a friend’s wedding and did hair/makeup for the bridesmaids. Since I knew that I would run out of time for myself, I got my hair blown out by a random salon before I arrived. I got so many compliments that I realized what a great idea this was! My husband surprises me — he took one look at me and said “that’s very Jennifer Aniston!”  (He meant it as a compliment, FYI.)

And then I realized that my hairstyle was very Jennifer Aniston! (In her grown out phase.) Remember this awesome haircut??
