For her makeup, we stuck with natural earth tones and kept it fairly light with the blush. Since paebaek fashion is to still red dots on the bride’s cheeks. For her lashes, I only used 2 layers since we were going for the more toned down natural look.

I’ve heard crazy stories about how the brides accidentally bite the groom’s lips with the date but it looks like J & J hit the target!

For her hair, I kept it as a very simple low bun because I know how rough the paekbaek dressers can be with hair. The little hat on top would’ve crushed any volume I put in her hair, so I kept the top fairly flat and just polished. The low bun was there to support the stick that goes through to hold the ribbon. Here’s an example of how aggressive some of the paebaek dressers can be

I absolutely LOVED J’s fusion hanbok. Most hanboks constrict the boobs and the flair start higher up. But the fusion hanbok is a little bit more forgiving. So the black part of her hanbok came down a little lower. She still kept her look traditional by throwing on the jogoli (the red bolero looking jacket) on top.

Stay tuned for PART 3! They WED!

This does not apply to everyone. Every artist has their day of tips.

But JAC Beauty brides to be, PLEASE DON’T:

1) Don’t get semi permanent eye lash extensions

JAC note: If you’ve been following me the past few posts, you will know that I LOVE FALSIES! While I do think that the semi permanent eye lash extensions are awesome day to day, I do not think it’s the way to go on the day of. Reason? I think they are kinda gross. Not everyone knows how to maintain them well so I’ve seen some crusty lashes … EEK saids the germ-o-phob in me. When eyeshadow lands on the lashes, it looks flaky and no matter how hard I try to fan it off, it just looks flaky. The lash extension people warn against using eyeliner and mascara … WHAT?!!? NO EYELINER OR MASCARA?? This is BRIDAL MAKEUP … it’s a must! It’s not easy being a bride! Really … suck it up for 1 day and just add the temporary falsies.

2) Don’t come with dirty hair. PLEASE!!

JAC note: WHO THE HECK STARTED THIS RUMOR?!? BLECH! Why wouldn’t you want to be your absolute freshest for your hubby to be!?! CLICK HERE to see why. It’s best to work with clean hair. Make sure your hair is completely dry of oil and moistures. I usually suggest washing your hair the night before without conditioner or the day of without conditioner just as long as it is completely dry before styling.

3) Don’t get facial hair waxing the few days leading up to your wedding.

JAC note: Who has time the few days leading up to the wedding to sit there and spend 30+ minutes plucking? MAKE TIME! Unless your going to wax your whole face, don’t wax … pluck! Waxing not only get the thicker visible hair but also the peach fuzz. When makeup gets on the 2 different surface, IT IS OBVIOUS. Makeup on smooth surface VS makeup on peach fuzz surface.

SIDE note: I also had a bride who’s armpits were bright red from getting burned by wax!

4) Don’t spray tan!!! If you must, just tanning bed!!

JAC note: I had a few brides that spray tanned this past year & the minute I started blending in the makeup, the tan started rubbing off in chunks. You know when you use an eraser and you get the used slivers of the eraser all over your paper … that’s the way the spray tan started rubbing off. It then left me with an uneven surface so the makeup didn’t look as evenly distributed. For everyday, I think spray tan is great! Heck! C’s done it a few times without getting the oompa loompa effect. But for bridal … stay away from it!

It’s not easy being a bride! How do people do this more than once?!?

Everyone kept telling me to start getting facials to prepare my skin to be a bride. But after all that was said and done … I simply couldn’t afford it. My skin type? The “HIGH MAINTENANCE” type. It’s t-zone oily with super dry cheeks. To top it off, it’s super sensitive and at the age of 30, I still get pimples! PIMPLES!! So I knew the cheapo “chinatown” $30 facial would totally break me out.

After experiencing a horrible $200 microdermabrasion facial (from a 5 star reputable spa) that left a million tiny little bumps all over my face, here are some tips that I am sharing with all my brides to be.

WATER! – Drink your 8 glasses of water! I barely drink 1 glass of water a day and it’s the water that made my coffee. It makes a world of a difference to drink a bottle of water every other hour. It’s always best to let your body naturally heal itself. Being that your SKIN is the largest organ on your body, why not help heal it in it’s most natural way!

NEXT ….

Being Korean, I was taught that this was the way of life:

Image not including the additional 10 steps to apply a full face of makeup.

Here’s a little secret that I’ve been testing out on my skin the past year. I wanted to test out this product through all the seasons and it’s finally ready for it’s reveal~

SKII Cellumination Mask-In Lotion = $75

YES! To most, spending $75 on a little bottle of skin lotion is INSANE!

Here’s my perspective:

- $75 is nothing compared to weekly facials ranging from $50 – $200.

- $75 is nothing compared to spending $10 – $20 on drugstore brand that doesn’t really do much for you skin.

- This little bottle of $75 lasts about 6+ months.

- It takes time for your skin to heal after facials. So why not just have your skin in great shape all the time without the glitch of having your skin heal in between.

Here’s why it’s so awesome:

This formula is what the leave on cloth mask is soaked in. So after application, it feels as if your skin has been hydrated with the mask.

It leaves your skin fully hydrated without that greasy feeling so if you apply primer & foundation on top, you don’t look caked on with a layer of makeup floating on the surface.

I do agree that $75 is pretty steep but why not treat the largest organ on your body the best!
