I have one tattoo. And that whole saying about “once you get a tattoo, you want more”?? Yeah right! I’m completely done with one! I got it right on my 21st birthday and I wanted to do it as my last wild thing in my last significant birthday.
Everytime I get a massage, I get asked “oooo are you a Leo?” Just a warning, if you’re looking to get a lion’s head tattooed on you, people will either think you are a Leo (I’m not) or that you got it after the Las Vegas hotel MGM. (I didn’t….Why would anyone do that?!)
I always get teased from my friends that I got a “tramp stamp” (which in my defense, it’s not the typical type of tramp stamp!
I chose the lower back because like Wiki says, it wouldn’t be distorted as much during pregnancy and it’s stuble enough where you can hide it. (My dad still doesn’t know! Shh!)
The exact image is actually from my student bible. I had this cool student bible and I LOVED the tribal looking pictures before each chapter. The lion’s head was from the book of Daniel, and I also meant to get Daniel 6:27 inscribed but my tattoo artist said that it would stretch and look weird. I thought I would wait and go back to get it done, but I never did. Funny that I almost had “Daniel” inscribed on my body forever, because that’s my husband’s name! But Daniel 6:27 was a very powerful part of the the book. It is where Daniel survived the cave of the lions’ den and comes out to everyone’s disbelief. The king falls on his face and proclaims that Daniel’s god is the true God that delivers his people. I absolutely loved the book of Daniel and to this day, I still love his character and his name! If I have any sons, they will definitely be named Daniel (and maybe we can go by their middle name so it won’t be confusing.)
Anyways, as far as covering up tattoos I’ve been pretty good at it. The low rise jean fashion trend made it hard for me, but thank goodness that the “long t-shirt and tank top” trend came in pretty soon after! I also had to wear a 1 piece bathing suit around my parents and made sure to tie a sweater around my waist if my shirt wasn’t long enough.
As far as cover up, I never bought makeup for it. But I think I would invest in Tattoo Camo! Looks like it would work awesomely!
