It’s FISHING season and I have already made my way out there~

Caught on 6/2/2010 and won me the biggest fish pot $!

The weather on June 2, 2010 out in Montauk, NY was:

In J’s head, 76 degrees is a cool spring weather. Not enough to get burned but slightly tanned. So around 11am, I took off my sweatshirt and fished in my tube top. For HOURS …….

& I got burned! I was foolish to only bring SPF 20 and think that it was enough protection for 76 degree weather. The nice breezy sea makes the actual temperature & sun so deceiving!

I never seem to learn my lesson :T BAH!

So this past week, I was in pain for about 3 days from the burn and then came the itching.

The best remedy for sunburn is aloe. Aloe in it’s natural state. But who the heck grows allow in their NYC apartments??? So I chose the next best thing…. aloe in a tube.

So I diligently used C’s recommendations all over my arms & chest (aloe & moisturize). The only place I couldn’t reach is my back and it resulted in looking like this:

(click on image for a closer look but if you have a weak stomach … look away)

I guess that’s one thing I’m looking forward to. Getting married to a mate that can rub aloe on my back! xP

So this led me to google, “WHY DOES MY SKIN PEEL AFTER SUNBURN” and the answer is:

It’s your skin’s way of healing.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to rub aloe on your back?

ack! i just got goosegumps from seeing that image. hope your skin is healing nicely! :) ALWAYS put on sunblock when you’re on water. the sun’s reflections off the water will always get ya even tho u think it’s not hot enough.

The funnier part is … because I fish on a boat, I’m constantly looking down into the waters. So my neck, under my arms, armpit & legs are ghostly pale and the rest of my body is red as a lobster. xP I have 6 months to fix this crazy looking farmers tan.

lol wish I could but I’m back in Boston

If it’s still like that in 6 months (yay, 6 months!!), can you airbrush your body? hehe
