My kit is full of different brands. There’s not one brand that I stick to when it comes to makeup and can I tell you a secret?
Constantly buying the wrong foundation color built my kit. I go from tofu white to JLo tanned. So I’m always in between colors. Which forces me to clean out my kit and get 4 different shades every year.
Here’s what you can do to avoid this:

Tips:
* When looking for makeup, make sure you are in good lighting. Flourescent lighting is the worst.
* If you have trouble finding the right color for your skin, go to a professional and have them pick out a color for you (but make sure they pick the right one…. just because they work there doesn’t mean they know makeup)
* You’ll probably need different foundation depending on the season
Here’s cutie patootie Pursebuzz on what she does with her wrong foundation:
And here are a few of my tips to you~
- When testing shades of foundation, do not use the back of your hand to match the color but rather the area on your face where your face meets your jawline. This will avoid your face looking one color and your neck looking another.
- If your foundation shade is too dark, purchase a lighter colored powder foundation and buff it in to blend. You need to set your foundation with powder anyways, so you might as well use a shade lighter to even out the tone. (this goes the other way around. If your foundation shade is too light, buff it out with a darker powder)
Hope this helps you avoid getting the wrong foundation color!
