I chopped off about 6 inches off my hair on my birthday. I was hating my hairstyle and couldn’t stand my terrible cut that I had gotten awhile ago at Alfangi Salon in NY. Can you believe that a bad haircut would last that long? It kept growing out to be weirder & weirder!

A few things new things that I experienced at the Butterfly Studio Salon:

Here’s an article that breaks down the 5 basic types of skin:

    • Type 1: Oily Oily skin tends to shiny with enlarged pores, and is prone to blackheads and blemishes. You might experience some tightness.
    • Type 2: Combination/normal This skin type has medium pores, a smooth and even texture, good circulation, healthy color, may tend toward dryness on the cheeks while being oily in the t-zone.
    • Type 3: Sensitive Sensitive skin tends to be thin, delicate with fine pores. It flushes easily, is prone to broken capillaries, is frequently allergic and can be rashy.
    • Type 4: Dry Dry skin feels tight, especially after cleansing. You have a tendency towards fine wrinkles, flaking and red patches. In women of color, skin may appear ashy or dull from dead skin buildup.
    • Type 5: Aging or sun-damaged This skin also feels tight with visible wrinkles, slack skin tone — especially around the cheeks and jawline — with leathery texture and broken capillaries.

After years of thinking that I have only Dry type of skin, I was recently told by a very convincing facialist that my skin is actually more on the sensitive side, more than the dry side. INTERESTING….

I was recently told by a stylist that the purpose of shampooing your hair is to clean and stimulate your scalp.  Well, duh — you might be thinking.  But the stimulating the scalp part actually was a reminder for me because I don’t actually do it! She said that by stimulating your scalp by scrubbing with your fingers, you will actually help promote healthy hair growth.  Hair GROWTH!? Ohh I need that!

Here are some pictures to help you understand how far you have to dig into your scalp to massage and scrub:

I was reading our web designer’s blog last month and came across this product.

Like GEEKINHEELS, my precious supply of Creme de La Mer was running out quickly and this poor bride-to-be, freelancer chose to buy a GOCCO than to replenish my supply. (GOCCO post to come soon)

When I read GIH’s review of Yu-Be, I knew I had to get it. After all, it was GIH who got me addicted to Creme de La Mer.

My hair part is currently side swept from the left. But it naturally falls a bit more towards the center left.

It’s definitely not as far combed over like Donald Trump but it’s swept.~

Growing up, my parents never introduced me to any sports. I was always the geeky Asian kid who played 2 instruments and went to KUMON after school.

So my hand / eye coordination SUCKS! I’m not particularly good at any sports (besides bowling where I’m currently averaging about 150 .. but that’s if bowling counts as a real sport xP).

This is why I love work outs where you have to use your core and find your inner balance to strengthen your body.

When I first started to understand the importance of eyeshadow primer, I snatched up the Urban Decay Primer Potion.

    At Sephora – $18

Original – is a clear formula that helps adhere eye shadows to your lid. This formula also helps the shadow from creasing (which is caused my oils or even tears) on your eye lid. It also helps colors appear vibrant and true to it’s color. Read More | Comments
