Men may think that women only wear makeup to impress men.  But I don’t think that’s true at all! And to help prove my point, I will give you an example from one of my favorite shows, Sex & the City.  I absolutely love this scene of Charlotte York:

This episode is when Charlotte York loses her first baby and is completely devastated.  She can’t emotionally handle going to her friend’s baby’s birthday and stays at home depressed. But after watching the true story of her hero, Elizabeth Taylor, and seeing how she turned her life into something positive after a much more dramatic life— Charlotte is encouraged and decides to get up out of her depression.  Pushing herself off from her couch, she puts on her best clothes, hair and makeup.

I love the scene where she walks out in her pink dress — all refreshed and looking amazing.  She takes a deep breath and puts on her sunglasses.  And she did it for herself.  Not to impress a man (she’s already married!) or to prove a point to anyone else. She looked good because she felt good again about herself, and that is how I feel a lot of the times!  Sometimes, to make myself feel better, or just when I want to have a great day, I just put on makeup and do my hair and I feel great!
