When I pictured myself getting married and living in a home, I always imagined myself having a little vanity set nearby a window.

I really looked forward to the day when I could have a mirror, desk and stool with all my makeup and lotions at hand. Isn’t that super girly of me?!  Well, now that we moved into a new place, I was able to get started on my little vanity set:

I found this white "vintage" desk on Craigslist and lugged it all by myself up 5 blocks and 2 flights of stairs!!

I feel as though the space in which you prepare and “set” your evening and day face really makes a difference.  Little things like putting on music while you’re on the subway, or having a book to read while you eat alone… they all matter in making your day just a little bit better or worse!  I would love the 10-15 minutes it took to put my evening toners and lotions on this cute little vanity desk! =)   Now all I need to do is find a stool and a big mirror…. (right now I’m crouching on the ground!)  I have been searching on Craigslist like a mad woman.

I also find that a lot of girls get a huge giant mirror and lay all their makeup on the floor.  Then they just sit indian style and put on their makeup like that. That’s actually pretty comfortable because you can REALLY lean in the mirror to see yourself.  But I’m sure that you all know that lighting is very important while you’re doing your makeup, so I really wanted to be right by natural lighting!  Lamp lighting = ugly yellow color.  The bathroom light might be better but unfortunately you have to stand up the whole time, so it’s not as comfortable.
