Let’s see… how many bottles of mascara and eyeliner do I have? Have I used in my life?? Probably a whole lot. One part I do like about not every having to use eye makeup products is that I’m not throwing away tons of plastic little bottles. I don’t know when exactly I “became” green but I think it was when I realized how much people LITTER!
Have you ever seen anything as ridiculous as someone slowly stopping on a sidewalk and then put a soda can on the ground and continue walking? Or a biker eating McDonalds and then throwing away the bag, the wrapper and napkin as he’s eating and biking? Or how about a nice BMW stopped at a signal, open their car door to put down a fountain soda on the ground, and then take off? These are all adults by the way… stop littering you people!
ANYWAYS! I really do believe that “every little bit counts.” In the end, those small things add up to a lot. J and I are always trying to be green in some small way or another.
I know is that MAC recycles and rewards their customers when they bring in 5 empty containers of MAC products. *Good job MAC!
Does anyone know if we can recycle our used makeup containers?

I wish I knew I feel so guilty throwing my makeup away after it’s done! ):
awesome post!!
I don´t think there is any other company that does recycling programs. Yet another reason to love MAC
Btw, can you believe they don´t do Back 2 Mac in Austria & Germany? We can send our empties to the UK, that´s our only option. That´s why I always bring my MAC empties with me when I visit the US
I’m glad to hear that MAC is helping to reduce littering! I personally hate throwing anything away, I keep all my makeup containers to use again! ^.^
Origins does a program. Here’s a post from themakeupblogger you might like
