Those are just the ones I use regularly. I have a stash that I stopped using.

- Sonia Kashuk – found at TARGET - Ranges from $6.99 – $19.99

- ECO tools - any drugstore like Duane Reade, Walgreens, CVS – Ranges from $3.99 – $12.99

- COASTAL SCENT - Italian Badger set – $29.99.

- Sephora – 2007 Winter Set collection – I got it for $99.99 … they don’t carry it anymore but keep an eye out for the SEPHORA Holiday brush sets! They are a steal … 15 brushes for $99.99

- SEYA/Yassi (my makeup teacher VICKYC5 brand) – $60.00 (I’m not sure if she sells these online. But if you’re in NYC, you can get it at her studio)

- MAC – I NEVER BUY MAC BRUSHES AT FULL PRICE!!! EVER! I always get my MAC brushes at the COSMETIC COMPANY outlet at either WOODBURY(NJ) or TANGER(NY) outlet malls. They are sometimes at 50% off the original price.

- Kevyn Aucoin – $350 … GASP! I KNOW! >> this was a must have splurge … (get ready for my justification) .. I REALLY REALLY need it! I actually bought this at BERGDORG GOODMAN during their April sale so I got $25 off PLUS a girlfriend of mine works there as a beauty consultant so I got an additional 25% off~ is it totally worth .. HECK YEA!

These brushes ranged from $0.75 to $6.99 … you don’t believe me?? Here’s the proof:

It took me years and many starved lunches to get to this massive collection. My advice to you if you are starting your collection is to start at the drugstore. Honestly, though I LOVE my KA collection, the ECO tool powder brush is way softer and about 90% cheaper.

You also don’t need as many variety as I have. (I have a lot of the similar brushes for when I have gigs with multiple faces. The germ-o-phob in me refuses to use the same brush on different people)

Start with :

- Powder brush

- Blush brush

- Fluffy eyeshadow brush to blend

- Smaller eyeshadow brush for detailing (smokey looks)

If you are a starter Makeup Artist then I highly recommend you getting a full set like THIS.
