My hair is dyed, permed, hi-lighted and layered. So yes, I understand what all that can do to your hair! First of all, don’t even compare yourself to the celebrities. They have fake hair! Well I guarantee that most of them have some sort of weave/extension. So don’t be discouraged if your hair doesn’t look like theirs…. it’s their job to be hot!

So for starters, invest in good quality shampoo/conditioner. It’s the thing you do almost everyday so it is IMPERATIVE that you do this to help improve the quality of your hair! I used Finese in college thinking “ohh yay I like this smell!” A nice smell doesn’t cut it. In fact, the best shampoo I’ve had smelled like #$)(#@*$)#(*&%. I remember my ex joking around saying that he would break up with me if I didn’t change my shampoo. It was that bad!
This is the shampoo I speak of, that I highly recommend for you hair coloring people:

Their shampoo is great for keeping in color, but their CONDITIONER is the best part. It has menthol which really makes your hair SUPER soft and breathes life into it. This would be the #1 thing I would use if my hair was recently fried from a bad high-lighting or coloring experience. The menthol is so strong that when I first used it, I thought that the water in the shower turned COLD on me! But it was just the menthol making its “cooling” sensation.
My hair isn’t terribly distressed right now (from years of getting trims every 3-4 months and using great shampoos) so for now I use Enjoy products:

Enjoy Luxury. I use this conditioner to give my dry hair moisture.

I use the volumizing shampoo to give me some volume because I have super flat hair!
I will do more reviews on other shampoos as I use them, but these are a couple that I highly recommend for now!

LOL hahahahahahaha… It’s like Herbal Essences commercial on tv!! Thanks for the info (^_^)!!!!!
haha yes, except that herbal essences smells wonderful and Pureology… not so much! Some people think it’s OK but some people think it’s too much! =) glad you had a nice laugh
For thick coarse hair that frizzes, MATRIX is AWESOME. It makes it look and feel like you got a strait perm!
Oh yes, that’s a great brand also! And it smells good!
thanks!
i happen to have voluminous hair and it gets annoying when i blowdry my hair and it ends up all poufy.. ><
@ Jessica: you are SO lucky you have voluminous hair! I HAVE to blowdry it or else it looks like a straight sheet against my face! =)
I am writing to let you be aware of of the wonderful encounter my cousin’s princess found browsing your web site. She learned some issues, which included what it’s like to have a marvelous giving nature to make many others quite simply thoroughly grasp specified specialized things. You actually surpassed people’s expectations. Many thanks for coming up with such interesting, healthy, revealing and as well as cool tips about your topic to Ethel.
