I LOVE tanning. I LOVE sitting in the sun and feeling roasted. The best is when I’m so burnt that I can’t lay on my back or sit properly because in a week, I know it will turn into a beautiful, golden tan. (I also feel like a nice tan makes me look toned xP (a really cool visual effect))

HOWEVER, the inevitable aging process has taken a toll on me and I have officially become a victim of the sun.

every year I’ve been gaining a spot or 2 here & there. But they come and go with the summer. Last night I noticed the freckles that “come and go with the summer”, have permanently made their home on my face. :(

Sun damaged, freckled, spotted BLLLLARG!

I promised myself that this year I will behave and having younger looking skin is 100 times better than potential skin cancer.

I have compiled a list of products that made me do a double take on SUNSCREEN. (A product I avoided for years because:: 1) I don’t like the way lotions with SPF smell like (SPF has this distinctive SPF-y smell) 2) it’s greasy.

SHISEIDO – Suncare line (I LOVE everything about this line. Did you know that the HAIR on your head needs sun protection too?? the SHISEIDO spray sun block can be used for your hair)

- You can get it at any department store or SEPHORA

BUT! Being the CHEAP-O that I am, I would never use my $20+ sunscreen when I go fishing!! I use COPPERTONE~

- Can be purchased at your local drugstore : prices range from : $5 – $10

Coppertone - Sun Protection - SPF 70+

I was told to always wear a minimum SPF of 15 .. but being on a boat in the middle of the Atlantic, Yug & I try to use the highest we can find.

And lastly, the GARNIER Nutritioniste line:

- Can be purchase at the local drugstore : price range : $3 – $15

Skin Renew Anti-Sun-Damage with SPF 28

I’ve been using this for about 2 weeks now. Haven’t really noticed a significant change but I do love the way it smells and how it leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft. Almost better than my expensive CLEU de PEAU line!

On a side note: (to piggy back on this post)

I’M ENGAGED~ He proposed on the boat yesterday (6/6/09) after we were done fishing~
