I must admit … the PRESCRIPTIVES counter at the department store is pretty intimidating. All those colors and you wonder, HOW IN THE WORLD does my skin possess such pigments???

PRESCRIPTIVE - Custom blends (yep, those are all the colors that go into making that BEIGE powder)

Remember my COLOR THEORY post? Prescriptive uses the same theory to come up with custom blended formulas to create the PERFECT shades of foundations, powders, concealers and even lipglosses.

PROS =

1. Colors matches all the hues in your skintone so when applied, you have a seamless face.

2. They even customize the formulas for your skin’s needs. So if you have dry skin, they add more moisturizers to the pigments to give a heavier foundation. If you’re oily, they add mattifyers.

3. They also have products that are pre-blended for sale.

CONS =

1. Custom blended products can not be returned

2. It is pricey.

They were just so great to work with. (considering the fact that we were in a highend department store and C & I did not look like we were worth a 6 digit salary)  They took their time to explain everything from basic skin care to colors.

- First they started with this color stick that was tested on C’s cheek to find her shade.
