JAC Beauty

One day I decided to walk into Bloomingdales for probably the 2nd time in my entire life, and I was snagged by a Christian Dior rep who did a fantastic job of convincing me to get a makeover.  She kept saying that they were giving away a GREAT free gift with a makeover.  I’ve never tried anything from Christian Dior, except for their famous Black Out mascara which I do love, so I thought–sure why not?

The makeup lady who was really polite and let me take this clip of her explaining the foundation/powder product she was using. I actually ended up buying them both because it didn’t seem too heavy and as she explained it– it seemed good for my skin! I never thought foundation could ever be GOOD for you, but apparently they are making them that way now with sunblock and etc.

Here’s what I looked like before. Yes, eww to the dark circles under my eyes. Don’t we all hate what we look like without concealer?? =(

Here’s what I looked like after. I did really like the eyeshadow colors she used on me, although pretty colors doesn’t always mean it will look good on you.

My thoughts: She went very heavy on this “natural” look and even though she used all natural tones, I still felt like it drew a little bit too much attention to my eyelids. If you have fatty eyelids like me, you should be careful how high the eyeshadow goes! I also thought it was weird how she didn’t put the eyeliner exactly on my eyeline—but she created her own line. She also used brown eyeliner, which is fine but I personally prefer black since my eyebrows and lashes are black.  (obviously!) Overall, I didn’t think it was the worst makeover I’ve ever had— pretty OK for a random over the counter makeover!

Although I liked the foundation, powder and shadow, I wasn’t blown away. I ended up returning the products and going with Prescriptives. I was super miffed with the return policy– they made me return all the samples, gift bag, brochures, etc.  I guess I can semi-understand the gift bag (although the same lady who was pressuring me to take the free gift was the same one who demanded it back) but making customers return SAMPLES?!  That is ghetto and unclassy, Christian Dior! (You can see my review in further detail on Yelp.)

XOXO,

C
