Eyelashes …

Before & After of Eyelash per procedure

Before & After of Eyelash per procedure

Did you know that you can PERM YOUR EYELASHES??*

Ever since I learned the beauty of makeup, there was no doubt in my head that creating luscious LASHES with makeup was an essential finishing touch.

When it comes to my eyelashes, I suffer the SNUFFLEUPAGUS* and admit to trying anything* to get it to look curled.

I did it.

I – PERMED – MY – LASHES.

When it comes to anything getting too close to my eyes that requires chemicals, I’m a big scaredy cat*. So it was a huge leap of faith on my part to muster up enough courage to get them done. I’ve read lots of CONS* about perming your lashes but desperate measures led to me a quaint salon in Flushing, Queens.

PROCEDURE:

Here’s my experience:

Before

Before

1. A teeny roller is stuck on the eyelid

2. Eyelashes are then stuck up against the sticky roller

3. Perm solution is applied to the eyelashes

J - during the procedure

4. Plastic wrap is placed under a warm towel and warm towel is placed over the eyes to set the perm in place

During

et voila!

Right after the procedure

Right after the procedure

I was a little hesitant about the way it looked right after because my lashes were so close to my lid. It felt like my lashes stuck up against my lids everytime I opened my eyes.

2 weeks after

2 weeks after

The lady told me that about a week later the lashes will relax a bit like hair perm and it won’t be as curled up. 2 weeks later my lashes are still pretty curled up.

Unlike the eyelash extensions, there are no restrictions to up keep the perm.

(CLICK on all the * links for info about lashes.)

Here are my personal PROS:

- I look bright eyed all the time.

- I love that I can rub my eyes,  wash my face, sweat and my lashes still look freshly curled.

- I’m not struggling to curl my lashes and paranoid that my mascara weighed my curl down

- Lasts as long as your natural lash fall outs.

Here are my personal CONS:

- the lashes are too curly. Next time, and I REPEAT NEXT TIME :) I will be sure to have the perm bigger

- Because the lashes are too curly, none of my make up brushes can penetrate the shield of lashes that guard my eye lids. So it’s been tough working around my lashes to apply makeup.

But the PROS definitely outweighs the CONS.

PRICE: The perm typically averages about $75 in NYC.

But in FLUSHING, QUEENS .. I got it for $30.

hi J! your perm looks great!! just a few questions: 1) what do you mean it lasts as long as the natural lashes fall out? and 2) you say that next time you’re going to get a bigger perm… what kind of perms are there? the cbs video says that there are 5 options. which options did the place in flushing have? thanks!!! =)

      Good morning from NYC Jenny~

      1) You know how we lose a few lashes everyday? That’s the only way the perm will fade. When your natural lashes fall off.

      2) Seashell Spa had 5 different sizes as well. I chose the one in the middle thinking the perm will relax in a few days. But I’m pretty impressed at how long it’s kept it’s curl. I’m actually in my 3rd week and they still look like week 1.

There aren’t different types of perms for lashes but rather sizes.

A youtube subscriber also recommended: http://www.simpleperm.com/us/

But it’s not as easily accessible as the regular perm. Next month when JAC slows down a bit, I will try the simpleperm and keep you posted~ Thanks Jenny!

$30 for forever clurled lashes? Not bad at all. I think I would be too scared to do it though, I find myself very protective about my lashes.. what if they messed up? D: I’d be stuck with funky lashes for a really long time. >.<

    4. Jennadore says:

      that’s awesome!!
      i might try that now.
Still a bit scared though…anything near my eyes… *shudder*

    5. Helen says:

Your lashes look wonderful! I’m a little scared myself to perform a procedure like that… How long did it take?

    6. Lucia says:

the process looks scary but the outcome is great!!
i would try myself, but my eyelashes are so short! nothing to curl!!! lucky u, u have beautiful long eyelashes!

    7. Claire Burnham says:

wow thats so cool! i never knew you could do that. keep posting!!

    8. jessica says:

      That’s amazing!
Your eyes have really opened up. : )

Lida: I TOTALLY know what you mean!!! That’s why I fore-go’ed the lash extensions because I saw so many mishaps with that. But I am REALLY REALLY protective of my lashes because it totally makes your eyes look different.

Jenna: lol .. yea the process was really scary!

Helen: Thank you ~~ the whole process took about 20 min. about 5 min to get the rollers on … and 15 min in the solution.

Lucia: Actually!! I think the perm would look better on shorter lashes. for a while the perm was so curly that the tips of my eyelashes would fold into my crease. So thats one CON about long lashes being curled.

Claire: I KNOW RIGHT?? who would’ve THOUGHT to do something so crazy! Lol

      Jessica: yep!~ I always look bright eyed~

      Hey Jing,

Thanks for the info. I will be heading back home to bayside soon for chinese new year and will be looking for places in flushing to get a facial and lash perm. Got any recommendations for facials? I know their cheap as heck in flushing, why waste time going there for double the price? Thanks.
