FINE! FINE! I haven’t given birth yet so this post title is a pretty far fetched analogy.  BUT every mother that has shared their birthing experience has told me “it was the worse pain I’ve ever felt in my whole life”. Well, WAXING was the worse pain “I’ve ever felt in my whole life” (thus far).

I started by asking around for referrals. Word of mouth always give me the sense of comfort knowing that someone I know has had a good experience. Especially when it comes to something as scary as ripping hair off of your body.

But I accidentally stumbled upon DEFRANCO SPAGNOLO’s in Great Neck, NY.

I walked in and was greeted with a team girls that made me feel at ease. (I think they saw the fear in my face) I was offered coffee, tea, pastries and was quickly introduced to NINA. Nina was kind enough to sit with me for about 15 minutes to explain everything WIKI explained to me while I was researching.

After reassuring me about 20 times that she’s been doing this for the past 20 years. I was ready. She was even kind enough to count down from 3 to help me anticipate the pain that was to come at 1.YES, during the whole 15 minutes, I thought I was going to pass out from the pain. It was the worse pain I’ve ever felt and swore everytime I heard ONE, that I will never do it again. At the moment, I was even hating on my parents for making me so hairy.

But as every mother INSTANTLY forgets the labor she went through and goes on to have their second, third and in the DUGGER’S CASE … 18. I will be going back to NINA in about 3 months for my 2nd waxing.~ =)
