Part of making your makeup look good is to take care of your skin. (which is partly why I posted the BUTTNE blog =)) there’s nothing worse than trying to cover up a pimple by caking product on top of it.

I wish I can make this post fun & interesting with a cute video & pictures, but it will be more informational than anything~

:FOUNDATIONS:
- Tinted Moisturizers :( minimal coverage), can be applied with your fingers because you don’t have to worry about the colors being applied smoothly.

- BB Cream: (medium coverage), can be applied with your fingers. PROS: this is an all in one product. (moisturizer, sunscreen, primer, foundation) CONS: it’s hard to maintain

- Mineralized: (depending on how much you use, medium to full), must apply with fluffy brush. PROS: fine mineral get into places that other foundations can’t (wrinkle) CONS: very messy. without the correct primer, it emphasizes wrinkles.

- Fluid: (medium to full), can be applied with painter’s brush, sponge, stippling brush. PROS: blends into skin tone and applies smoothly. Photographs well. CONS: you have to work it into skin by blending well or it will leave streaks on your face.

- Stick: (full), can be applied with painter’s brush, sponge, fingers. PROS: has full coverage. Photographs well. CONS: very heavy and hard to use

- Concealer: (full), can be applied with a concealer brush or finger. PROS: high pigmentation for spots. CONS: can’t use alone and needs to be blended in well.

- Compact Powder: (medium to full), can be applied with puff that comes with compact or fluffy brush. PROS: you can carry it around in your purse. very forgiving; you don’t have to work so hard to blend it in. CONS: if you’re not careful, you can crack product inside the compact and you’ll just have a crumbly mess

- Twin cake: (medium to full), can be used wet or dry so you would you applicators accordingly. PROS: comes in a compact, so you can carry it around. CONS: get’s cakey when reapplying for touch ups

- Loose powder: (minimal) can be used with a fluffy brush. PROS: it sets the foundation when you apply over it. CONS: you can’t carry it around.

I leave you with this video of a new applicator I found at SEPHORA.
